Wallingford Lodge continues to play a vital role in our community. We take our civic responsibilities very seriously, and continue to contribute our time, our effort and our money to provide programs which benefit a wide range of people, not only in Wallingford, but state wide. Some programs we support wholeheartedly for youths include the Elks Hoop Shoot Contest and Elks Soccer Shoot. We are also involved in the Elks Drug Awareness program and sponsoring girls and boys softball teams, and giving Scholarship awards to students.

As an example of generous activities in December 2019, lodge 1365 ran a coat and toy drive activity around the holidays. Over 70 coats were dropped off that were picked up by the Vietnam Veterans of America. Several more boxes were filled with 147 individual toys and they went to the U.S. Marine Corps’ ‘Toys For Tots’ program. And during the Veterans Breakfast, they served 56 complimentary meals to veterans in attendance. In addition, fellow Elks dug deep and made $25.00 donations for ELK Holiday Dinner Boxes for Needy Families and raised $1325 in 2019. These boxes were distributed through local churches and social service agencies .

The B.P.O.E. is intensely partriotic and dedicated to service to our communities, and our country. We honor the flag of our country and never forget our veterans. The cardinal principles of our great fraternity are: Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity. These principals are paramount to every Elk and they guide us every day of our lives.
