EXALTED RULER'S MESSAGE
Members All,
The dog days of summer are certainly here; I am glad that my air conditioning works. Even in this heat, your lodge still has wonderful things going on.
I was able to escape the heat somewhat by attending our National Convention in Orlando (who would have thought that central Florida would be cooler than New England in July?), and I had the privilege of meeting Exalted Rulers from other lodges and share ideas on how to make Elkdom grow in our community. I have posted the daily news letters from each days meetings along with the results of the reso- lution votes on the bulletin board in the Carriage House if anyone would like to have a look.
Additionally, I have been working with the Trustees to adjust pricing for Hall rentals in an effort to attract more business in that area. We believe that there is great income potential in that area, and would like to figure out ways to tap into this additional revenue.
August usually begins as a slow month around the Lodge, but there are certainly some events of interest, especially as the month comes to an end. First, we will have our annual Steak Night on August 7th for all of you steak lovers. I for one am certainly looking forward to it. And who can forget our famous Tent Week from the 18th through the 22nd, with a different menu each night. Come join your fellow elks for a night under the tent and for some great food and drink. The Pig Roast is back on Saturday the 21st, and, of course, the week will conclude with Jay LeeĀ's Seafood Bash.
All in all, Tent Week has become an annual end-of-summer tradi- tion which should not be missed.
As always, any ideas or concerns, or perhaps a favorite rec- ipe you would like to share, see any officer, House Commit- tee Member, or myself. God Bless America and our troops, and remember
